How do you promote your business for free on social sites like Facebook and Twitter?

I have my own business http://www.divalciousaccessories.bigcartel.com look to promote my page I think facebook and twitter is a good place to start. How do I go about doing so and is it free?

Sorry it's not free it will cost money for an add on facebook or twitter because that's how they keep it free for people to use to connect with each other. however there is a bit of a loop hole with the facebook one . you can make a group that talks about your business and invite people to that group but you can only invite your friends to the group and ask them to invite their friends and just hope it grows from there . with that you are most likely not going to get much exposure depends on how many friends you have .
