give an example of a site?
Users often bring in programs or download programs from the internet. Give an example of a site for which the benefits of allowing users to do this outweigh the danger. Then give an example of a site for which the dangers of allowing users to do this outweigh the benefits.
and please elaborate your answers. thank you. Smile

Ok???? I think I understand what you are asking. Ok. it took me a little while but I have a few good examples.

When benefits outweigh the danger: Let's use checkpoints. If you download the toolbar, you get points which you can use for perks like giftcards and when you get enough points you can redeem them for something cool.

When danger outweighs the benefits: Let's use facebook. A user sees this offer on one of there favorite games. "$100 in facebook credit if you sign up and download our program." And they click on it and they sign up and download the program. You get the $100 dollars but they have a hidden virus that tracks your bank information and everypassword to every website that you are a member on.

An example in which the benefits of downloading a program from a site outweigh the the danger (or risks) can be seen with the SKYPE program. The program allows users to communicate with voice and video with other users around the world either free or for a nominal fee using IP services on the world wide web vice standard analog.
A site which the dangers outweigh the benefits is Pirate Bay. thepiratbay.se website allows users to download freeware and pirated software and copywritten material through the use of torrent software and seeders who provide the material that the user(s) are trying to acquire. The dangers are the legal actions that can be taken against the person downloading the material, even if they're oblivious to the legality of it. There's also the malicious software that is attached to much of the torrented material which creates a vulnerability on the users computer which can enable a hacker access to the users data as well as corruption of the system. The benefits of sites such as Pirate Bay are that they allow a group of users to collaberate and share information through the use of torrent software directed by a torrent site such as Pirate Bay. Each user can be working on a specific area of a project and torrent sites creat a way to collaborate that information.
(Hope that's enough elaboration lol)!!
