Cause when the dollar goes, you won't be needing education, and employment, you'll be using a hoe to plant crops and guns to defend them

That's what the right-wing media tells them to worry about. It's not that they care about deficits or the dollar. Look at what bush did. If Clinton-era surpluses were allowed to continue, the debt would be /paid off/ by now. They're only pretending to care about it now to rpevent Obama from doing anything.

Republicans are intentionally trying to bankrupt the nation to eliminate social services. It goes back to Reagan, who started running huge deficits during good times. Now we're supposed to be running deficits. It's how you build an economy out of a recession/depression. But the repubs don't want the economy fixed. As long as there's a bad economy they can blame it on Obama. Not that I like the dems much, but repubs have been intentionally trying to destroy all of what I hold dear about this nation for decades. They never got over losing the Social Security fight and have wanted it abolished since the fifties.

Ah, more liberal mythology. How... dull.

Inflation harms the poor and charities much more than anybody else. The increased costs of food and goods has a significant effect on budgets of poor people. If you don't care about inflation, then you don't care that it causes the poor to get poorer, because it makes their limited incomes worth less.

Also, inflation reduces real income, since wages tend not to keep up with it. When lower and middle class peoples' incomes buy less and less, then they are no longer able to be as generous with charity. Inflation decreases charitable giving, and makes that decreased giving less capable of buying the necessities that the truly needy require. If you are unconcerned about inflation, then you are unconcerned about the indigent.

Inflation also impacts the economy, because as more of our budgets go to paying for necesities, people are forced to cut back on other purchases. Fewer purchases reduces economic activity, which has a direct effect on employment. Employment cannot increase if people are buying fewer goods. Not caring about inflation thus means you don't care about unemployed people.

So, what was that you were saying again?

Because we know that he United States does not really have an endless supply of money to handle all the social programs. What was meant for a temporary help has become a lifestyle for too many.

1. Education - we have poured more money into education each year with no increase in test results. Therefore, it is obvious that money is not the solution.
2. Employment - how does giving a person money to sit at home and not work help them get employment? Government taxes and regulations have killed the job market.
3. Helping those less fortunate - Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day. Teach a person to fish and you feed them for a lifetime. Unfortunately, our government is more interested in giving fish to get re-elected and not too worried about teaching how to fish so that those less fortunate can become independent of the government.
