Why does this cancer still talk about his girlfriend as if she is alive?

My co worker talks about his girlfriend, even has images of her on his bbm and Facebook etc of her and talks to me about her as she is alive. He mentions that she actually died in and accident a year ago. Why does he still treat as if she is alive, talks to me about her tells me stories of them Etc. He still hasn't moved on or at least attempted to. It seems really odd but than I read that cancers don't let go of the past. Is this an extreme version?

Because talking about her is the process he needs to go through to heal. This way, she stays alive to him. I'm sure he'd feel guilty if he were to forget her, and that's why he won't stop reminding himself of her existence. Just leave him be, he'll figure it out when it's time to move forward in his own time. You can't get over something this traumatic in a blink of an eye. Not when you care so deeply for someone, and then they are gone forever. I think a Cancerian person's worse nightmare is to lose the people they love. They invest a lot of deep feelings into the select few they love. Losing a loved one is very traumatic. There will be a lot of left over residual feelings from guilt, fear, anger heartache etc.

If something traumatic happened to you, would you like it if someone told you to just get over it? Why should he speed up his healing process for the likes of you? Just because it bothers you? Eventually he will need to let go of the past but, it's only been a year, geez. Cancerians are deep and care deeply so their love can't turn off that quickly, even if it's for their own sake to be happy.

yup, thats true! cancerians can't easy let go of someone they love, maybe because he's deeply in love with the girl and thought he found the perfect one, the pain will fade maybe if he can find a much better girl that can make him moved on..

You sure have a world full of empathy. If your bf dies right now, I'm pretty sure it's going to take you a year or more to heal, it's common sense.

Poor Guy, I can't imagine how hard it'd be if the girl I loved died.

I knew a Leo that did this too. He misses her, he's still in shock and he can't let go of the past. He'll move on eventually.

That means he truly loved her. Something tells me you have never experienced that type of love before. Once you feel that type of love for someone then you will understand why he is taking so long to get over her.
