DELL Laptop problems?
Yo, I have a Dell Inspriron 1545. The hard drive broke, so I had it replaced with a SeaGate 750 GB HDD. Now, when I start it up or turn my laptop off, it makes a loud popping sound. I'm sure its the hard drive. Also, not HDD related, the screen will flicker, nothing to do with refresh rate. And, my computer will now randomly hibernate. Is that cooling related? It gets hot.
With the HDD, I upgraded to 3GB of RAM.

Hello Jake,

I am from Dell Social Media and Community.

The popping sound could also be with the CD/DVD drive, I would suggest you to remove the CD/DVD drive from the system and verify if you get this sound at start up.

Screen flickering issue could be LCD issue, connection issue or driver issue.
Logon to http://www.support.dell.com and download the latest driver for your video card and install it.
Connect an external monitor and verify if the external monitor also flickers.

Random hibernate could be an issue with the power saving settings on the system or heating issue also.
Follow the link below to resolve overheating issues.
