How do i send someone a tweet?

I'm following them on twitter, they're not following me. I'm trying to enter a contest in which they're asking for me to send them a headline by sending a tweet.. how do i do this?

You can send them a reply by typing @(their username) and then your message into the status box.

For example: @twitter Hello Twitter!

alright i think i figured it out. it's just like the other guy said, just put @MercSharks on your status box that's in your profile. the one that says "what are you doing?" or something like that. and put your headline right after it.

and if you're not talking about the sharx game, then i have failed you. probably some other team is doing the same thing.

you do a @username post, it's no longer just a reply to their last tweet automatically. You can reply to a specific tweet now from twitter.com or some off the twitter apps.

The downside is that when you send a @username tweet from your mobile and you want it to be a reply to someone's latest tweet, it no longer does that.
