Is it illegal to say this on facebook?
My friend has a joke account on facebook, and he left it up. His friend went on and said to some lady 'I had sex with your son.'
She then said many death threats, and even before she said them my friend apologized saying it was his friend.

She is saying she is going to contact the police. Would my friends even get in trouble? And wouldn't she get jail time?

It's probably not ILLEGAL to do that, but seriously, if your going to post something like that, just post it on a newsfeed or something so it can get deleted. Your friend might actually get in trouble with the lady though.

That kinda of thing shouldn't have even been posted on Facebook and yes, it was a joke, but I can understand why the lady is so mad. If they police gets involved just state that it was a joke. And don't do it again

I think it would really depend on state laws. I mean she can said you threaten her but it depends.

There is no law against lying, so no, your friend should be fine, however, threats of any kind are illegal and I suggest you friend saves them just in case.

yes it is illegal. i work in law so take my word for it.

making any kind of sexual comments on a social networking site is classed as sexual harassment and in some cases bullying.

it could also be illegal if this ladies son is under the age of 16. if so then the police will take this matter very seriously indeed if its reported to them.

thats the thing about people today when they get access to other peoples details and accounts, they can say totally uncalled for rubbish like this on someone elses account, as they dont have the guts to do it on there own account. joke or not some people need a good SOH transplant if they call that a joke. must have a very sad and limited life.

all you can do is hope you dont get a knock at the door and see the police cars outside with a warrant to bring you in.
in which case he will end up with a criminal record, jail term and possibly a demand for compensation to the woman or her son.

one last thing, lying IS illegal aswel. try lying to a police officer and see where it gets you......thats all im saying. it doesnt matter where you lie. but it does matter what you lie about.

What an asshole who would ever even think about doing such a think. I hope our lord jesus christ has no mercy on him. I'm praying for him. By the way they need to destroy hospitals and built churches. That way we could get you in the pool.
