how can i get rid of facebook "koobface" virus if internet won't work?

i was finally able to install something. free trial of windows live care and it scanned for virus and spyware but i'm thinking the internet on my laptop doesn't work because of the virus because the internet works on all the other laptops in our apartment

Ok, I'm back online, I was informed once you get the virus and reboot u could not get back online, because it changed your poxy setting, if you are using IE open the tool and then internet options, click on connections and look down, click into Lans settings and uncheck the check marks. Then see if you can get online, good luck!
