Is it fair to penalize social networks like Myspace or Facebook for the actions of it's users?

Or on sites like craigslist where a young woman responded to an ad for a nanny and the guy who posted the fake ad kills her once she gets to the address. Who is at fault in these kinds of cases--the network or the user?

I think you should not blame or prenaliz facebook or any other social website for this because this isn't their fault. They do their best to keep eye on what's going in but they have millions of users they can not monitor everybody. What should be done is more cyber laws needs to be made.

The user in that case I mean these sights give you warning of what you could be getting into and you hear stories of stuff happening from these sights all the time.So the sight is not to blame.You are for not being careful and cautious.

Neither to be honest. How does the network know the person is a psycho? And how does the User know not to go to it. If the network has a disclaimer stating that they accept advertisements and are not responsible for them (which they usually do, so if you navigate to a webpage with viruses the network is not at fault) then it is not really to blame.
