Is writing a facebook status about the guy you like a bad idea?
So the guy I like always texts me in the morning "you're cute, you know that?" and I want to write a facebook status saying "Getting texts that make you smile from the guy you like is the best thing to wake up to. (:" but I don't want him seeing that and thinking it's about someone else and then backing off. What do you think?

Not a good idea :| even if he does really like you, guys tend to be pushed away when a girl comes across as easy to get. they like it when a girl is mysterious, hard to get, and that kinda thing. imo. Smile

I think it is because if you get used to writing FB statuses about that guy and you guys date, well, when you break up and you write a nasty FB status about him, he'll know its him.

It's always a bad idea to air your personal life on Facebook. Those texts are a private thing between the two of you, he may not want you sharing it with everyone. Keep it to yourself.

You can write it, but add you know who you are! He knows it's him without mentioning his name. Good luck and have fun. He'll laugh and be flattered you mentioned him.Smile

Go ahead!! Smile It can't harm anything... and if he figures out it's about him then all the better... you can ask him if he saw your Facebook status if you feel like he's backed off and then tell him "it's about someone special Wink " just my advice...

Yes this is risky because alot of things could go wrong. As you say, he might think it is for someone else. If he does know it is for him, he may not like the fact that you are expressing intimate thoughts in such a public forum. Why can't you just tell him how you feel personally through a text message or email?

Its risky. A bit too risky for my taste. One one side he may find it flattering and nice. But on the other hand there are just too many things that can go wrong. For one, if you havent been flirting for too long than your status may easily scare him off, since most guys don't want their relationships to be for the world to see but between him and the girl that they like. So he may simply lose interest if you post a status about him (specially if someone figures out that its him and tells him about it). Secondly he may not think its about him, in which case hell think youre kindof a slut who has many guys flirting with her, which would make most guys lose interest. Thirdly he may not have feelings for you yet and just be flirting with you to test the waters. In which case knowing that you like him so soon will make him lose interest. All in all there are just too many things that can go wrong and too few things that can go right. If you want him to be interested than you should keep the flirting between you and him and noone else. Good luck Smile
