What do these two computer-tech terms mean?
I hear so-much-mention of the two computer-technology terms that I did not hear during my years in computer repair.
These two terms are HASHTAG and RETINA DISPLAY. What do these two terms mean in every-day English?

Hashtag is a term used on twitter to mark the "Tweets" relativity to certain things. They look like this, "#yahoo". For example, I could tweet, "Boy do I hate this heat wave. #toohot #heatwave."
Retina display is a marketing term used by apple to describe a resolution on a media screen where the pixels are not visible to the naked eye.

The # symbol, called a hashtag, is used to mark keyword or topic in a Tweet. Any user can categorize or follow topics with the Hashtags service.

A hashtag is a way to link similar content and people who speak the same issues.

Hashtag is a convention that helps the community by adding a context and metadata to your tweets and you create simply by prefixing a word with a hash symbol: # hashtag.

Retina display is a brand name used by Apple for displays claimed to have pixel density so high that the eye would not be able to notice pixelation at a typical viewing distance.

"hash" is a nickname for the # pound/number symbol, going back to at least the early 70s. A tag name beginning with # (at Twitter) was then called a "hashtag". Now, it's easy to find "definitions" that suggest at least that the # is a "hashtag symbol" or just a "hashtag". Pretty soon, if not already, that will be the "official story" and the real origin lost. Like with "hacker".

"Retina Display" is Apple's name for the ludicrously-high-resolution display on the latest iPad, iPhone and macBook models. Probably iMacs too, soon.

"Google", "Yahoo!", "AltaVista", "Ask.com" are example of search engines. You can find the answers to questions like these easier and quicker than asking here.

Edit: See what I mean? Before I even hit Submit, someone has already posted that "#" is a "hashtag". One thing you can do a search for that hasn't changed meanings yet is "Eternal September".
