I have too many cats and I can't keep them anymore. I don't want to make their lives horrible just because I'm having a hard time taking care of them. But I don't want anything bad to happen to them, so I want a place where I can take them so I know they'll be okay.

Although I disagree with your descision to get rid of them, at least you want them to live relaxing lives. You can give them to the RSPCA or a rehoming agency (google one in your area). Also have you thought of asking family, friends and friends of friends?

Many areas have what's called "No-Kill Shelters"...you should google/look up no kill shelters in your area...call around to pet stores or regular animal shelters, they might know where a no-kill shelter near you is...

Even if you have to drive a long way I tjhink you should do it...make a little roadtrip out of it...most grown cats don't get adopted from regular shelters...so if you take them there they'll probably be put-down...

Try going online and enter Cat Rescues in your town/city and state. Any rescues in your area should pop up and give them a call. These rescues are not city or county run shelters, you may also want to check out No Kill Shelters in your area, personally I would go with Feline Rescues. I wish you luck. I would be wary of craigslist or other 'social networks. You have no clue who is answering your ad. There is a Feline Rescue in my area who accept unwanted or feral/stray cats at no cost to you who will spay/neuter, give all vaccinations,de worm etc. and re-home. I am assuming that you DO NOT have the funds to spay/neuter as many people today find themselves out of work or have lost their homes. You may try to find on the net any "FREE Spay and Neuter Clinics" in your area. Again I wish you luck.

Sorry but most "no kill" shelters are full now and you may have a hard time placing them. I would at least start with craigslist and try to rehome some that way.

If your cats were not neutered/spayed, get them done BEFORE you rehome them. If you still can't find homes you may have no choice but to turn them into your local shelters in your area and hope some of them will be adopted.

All you have to do is look online for no-kill shelters in your area and they will try to find a good home for your cats.
