Why does this pop up when I try to play Battlefield 3?
I have a Dell Inspiron 14R and I tried to download Battlefield 3 on my PC. Everything went fine but when I started to play it but a little icon showed up and said that I needed to download direct x 10 and 10.1 to play. So I went to Microsoft.com and downloaded what I needed and it said that I have the DirectX installed and up to date. What do I do?

This is the exact message that showed up.

Failed creating D3D device of at least version 10.0 on adapter “Intel®
HD Graphics” with driver “Unknown”. Error is
DXGI_ERROR_UNSUPPORTED (“Unsupported.”).

This is typically caused by not having the minimum required Direct X
Support in the GPU.
For NVIDIA GPUs, DirectX 10.0 support is required.
For AMD and GPUs, from other vendors, DirectX 10.1 support is required.

Kevin,

It appears that the integrated GPU that comes with the CPU does not support high level of graphics, neither does it support dx10. You can click the link below to see what it says you need to support the Battlefield 3 game. You would also need to check out what the hardware specs that are required to play this game and compare them to what hw is installed on your computer.
