High school scheduling... not sure what to do, doubt it even matters?
Ok so I am planning my high school schedule for next year and I am unsure about what classes to take. I am going to be a junior and I have already decided to take AP Chem, as i am excelling in chemistry regents right now. However, I also wanted to take physics (regents), but my guidance counselor wants me to take AP Physics my senior year instead and thought regents physics would make AP Physics too easy (I didn't see a problem with that, but apparently there is?) So I am now at a dilemma. I have 2 open periods for study halls, of which I feel are unnecessary. I am taking 3 other AP courses asides from AP Chemistry and am also doing an after school sport and instrument, which is a huge work load, but nothing i can't handle. My guidance counselor is pushing me to take a second science other than physics (to broaden my science background apparently), but I am uninterested in any of them asides from forensic science. My parents don't want me to take any of the classes i am considering and think that I will be overworked. They said that last year too, but I have reasonably sized homework assignments that I can easily handle (hence the fact that I spend about an hour or two on facebook/instagram/pinterest/other varies sites including this one every day). So anyway... Should I take another science course? Stick it with a studyhall? Or take an awesome cooking class so I have something to look forward to instead of constantly being bored throughout the entire day? Thanks for your reply, it is much appreciated and I would love to hear your thoughts, even though most of them won't affect me considering the fact that this post was more to get my thoughts together rather than ask someone's opinion. And also a procrastination to an assignment due at midnight tonight... only one and a half hours left to do that...hmm.. But Thanks!

You don't want to overload yourself, but you still want to be challenged. You're the only one that knows your limits. I would say cooking is your best option; it sounds like you enjoy it, and it's awesome to have a relaxing class (mine is orchestra xD). Forensics is cool too, but you could always take another academic course if you think you can handle it.
