Macbook pro 13inch or Samsung chornos 7?
Macbook pro june 2012 has 4gb ram, intel i5 dual core adn 1280 x 800 screen and i can get for 850 (student discount) normally 999

Samsung chronos 7 has i7 quad core, i tb hard drive plus 8gb ssd, nividea ge force 640m 2gb and 1600-900 screen anti reflective and super bright.. oh and an anti aging battery and 3 year guarantee for 799 reduced from 999

I like macbook build quality although the Samsung is brushed aluminium

I'm a student and the way i use my laptop is i do 100 things at once literally loads of windows open watching YouTube on pause whilst looking at Facebook whilst doing uni work

I watch alot of online movies like streaming from websites

I want a good investment that will last me. I may consider the mac-book air

Any thoughts?

Thanks for your help
the Samsung has 8gb ram and the processor is Intel Core i7 3635QM
I agree with everyone about the longevity of the mac and it's stable os but the one thing that puts me off in the 13inch one is the screens 1200x800 resultion

I like to watch streaming videos etc i heard that the cpu and graphics card plays a part in this?

Obviously my perfect match would be the 15inch macbook pro but at 1500 quid it's almost double.. i think with student discount i can get it for 1250

The chronos is also from john lewis so it offers the john lewis 3 year guarantee.

And with the mac i'll but then knowing my luck they will update it gain in april

My last laptop was a Samsung and my current laptop is a Samsung. I used to fix Samsung laptops under warranty and I personally think they are great. My £500 Samsung wipes the floor with my husbands £1000 HP.

Basically it comes down to Windows or Mac OSX really!

If you are a big multi-tasker, I would go with the Chronos 7 because of it's quad core processor vs the dual core in the MacBook pro. It also has a faster cpu (i7 vs i5). Based on the specs the Chronos will be quicker and better for multitasking because of the extra cores. For longevity, however, Mac's are known for lasting forever with little maintenance. Although I now only use PC's, I still have a MacBook pro that's 7 years old. I am not saying the Chronos 7 won't last a long time, but the MacBook pro certainly will.

If I were you, though, I'd go with the Samsung. Can't beat those specs for the price.

I prefer Macs, so I'd go with the MacBook Pro or the Air. It's really down to what operating system you prefer. The MacBook Air runs with flash memory, so overall system performance will be very fast, but processor intensive apps will run best on the Samsung because of its processor.

I think the MAC has a more stable operating system, but the Samsung has better specs. What are you doing with it?
