I think most of America tends to be center left on social issues.
And in terms of policy, they want moderation...but that puts law makers in the GOP in a bind...because the base of their party is fanatical...and are not interested in a functioning government. If your criticism is "government is broken" and you are in a position to insure that is precisely the case...and the public in general see's through this tactic...it is a real put off. |

I guess because people are naturally reluctant to identify as neo-nazi or "nationalist", if you know what I mean.

Don't think the last presidential election showed "everybody" is liberal. The results were 50.6% t0 47.8%, not an overwhelming liberal result!!!

I don't know if you are that kind of person but a lot of people made the mistake of seeing every Democrat as a liberal, which is not true. Most of us do NOT see political parties like they are sports teams and support them always, completely. I'm a liberal Democrat but it doesn't mean I support the Democratic party's decisions all the time and it doesn't mean I disagree with every opinion that comes from Republicans.
And yours is actually a pretty wrong statement. There are a lot of non-liberals in the media as well. (And I'm not just talking about FoxNews.) I'd think more people went from being a Republican to being a Democrat because we all saw what happened when a Republican (Mr Bush) was in the office, and today's Republican politicians are absolutely horrible. I don't like them as a liberal, if I were a Republican, I'd dislike them even more. |
