Question about Iphone monthly data? Please help!?
I've had and Iphone 4 for about seven months. I have Verizon and I'm allowed 2 gigs a month. I have 3G. And the monthly bill is on average $100 (including insurance).
Normally I get notified that I've "reached data allowance for the bill cycle" just a few days before the billing cycle ends. And I get charged about five to twelve extra dollars.
But this month I reached the data allowance 10 days early! And I've continued to use Facebook, Facetime, lots of texting, calling, and other apps that require internet. Is there a way that I can check how much data I've actually went over? And how much it's going to cost me? The billing cycle doesn't even end for another 7 days! And is there a way that I can get more than 2 gigs a month without breaking my two year contract? This is ridiculous! Please help!

Texting and apps are normally nothing. If you are watching video online that will consume it quickly. Facetime also is passing video. Use wifi for that stuff otherwise yeah you will use it quickly.

Verizon should have an app to logon and check your usage to see where you are at, at&t has one so I'm assuming verizon does too.

You can see the total amount of data that your cell phone is using by adding up the sent & received data.

1) Go to Settings
2) Go to General
3) Go to Usage
4) Scroll down to cellular usage
5) Add up the sent & received data

* 1 Gigabyte = 1024 Megabytes*

However, if you use WiFi when you're at home instead of 3G you won't be using any of your 3G data unless you're out and about and away from your router.

To enable WiFi
1) Go to Settings
2) Click on WiFi
3) Click on the slider to turn it on
4) Select your router from the options

Make sure when you have WiFi on you turn off your cellular data:
1) Go to Settings
2) Go to General
3)Click on Cellular
4) Turn that slider to off
