Facebook just sent me a notification that a random person joined facebook?

So when I logged onto facebook, I had one new notification. The notification said "Breaker Cool just joined Facebook." I literally have no idea who this person is, and facebook has never sent me a notification that someone joined facebook. I'm so confused. Has this happened to anyone else?

It's just a notification, someone has joined that is connected to someone you know but it really means nothing. If you don't know them or don't want to just ignore it and your fine. This is just a way that FB uses to try to help people find others to connect to that they "MIGHT" know, but many times you don't . please vote

If you have yahoo contacts that could be the reason. If thats true one of them has signed up and facebook is letting you know they've joined.

I'm sorry about that. Facebook sent you that notification because "Breaker Cool" might be a friend of one of your Facebook friends. So, because Facebook's mission is to make the world more open and connected, the service thought you might know the person.
