Peter Alexander Fashion Designer
Peter Alexander is the most recognized fashion designer to specialize in pyjamas / sleep wear clothing and now bedding and gift ideas. However, it was a hard battle for the pyjama king who had to overcome dyslexia, financial limitations and an overall lack of knowledge of both fashion and business.

Peter Alexander Sleepwear established itself in the mid 1980’s. After an inspiring trip to Hong Kong, Peter came back with a sample of fabric and an idea to bring pyjamas to the Australian fashion market. The ‘Peter Alexander fashion designer’ was born! He started small by working from his mother’s house, using the garage as his warehouse. Peter initially pretended to be three different people on the phone to perceive to people that the company was bigger than it actually was. Peter was Jim the stockroom guy, Matt the customer service guy and of course Peter was Peter Alexander the fashion designer.

Peter Alexander pyjamas ultimately took off after placing a mail order advertisement in Cleo Magazine. Peter notes that it was a risky gamble at the time given that he was using debt to fund the advertisement. Overall, the ad more than paid itself off after he received over 4000 orders.

Since this initial success, Peter Alexander now has stores throughout the country stocking not only Peter Alexander clothing items, but also bedding items, gift ideas and RSPCA gear. Peter is a strong supporter of the RSPCA and has been awarded Ambassador status for his contributions and work.

He also has a Facebook account and you can follow him on Twitter….the links are at this URL: http://www.fashionreview.com.au/peter-al...-designer/
