Why is my Nokia Lumia 920 using so much data to run simple apps such as facebook?

facebook does have a lot of pictures which means it will consume a lot of data
it's not the phones fault
if you want to decrease your phones data usage
download a browser called "nokia xpress"
and start using it to browse
and start using it instead of the facebook app
just open http://www.facebook.com and log in normally
the browser compresses the page which means it will be using less data
