Why can't I change my notification settings on Facebook?
Once upon a time, you could edit what notifications you received on Facebook by going into notification settings. But it seems they've completely removed this function, and now you can't, you can just view how to remove notifications. Well, I don't really want to do that. I want to enable something that I think I previously unchecked.

When you comment on a facebook comment box on another website, it used to give you notifications when someone responded, but it doesn't anymore. I get notifications telling me when someone else commented in the box, but no notifications telling me when I get a reply to something I posted?

So to clarify, my question is why did Facebook change it's notification settings, and if no one can answer that, more preferably, how can I change them now?

Thanks in advance

Facebook will notify you about updates in several ways. On your homepage, you can find the most recent notifications by clicking the globe icon in the upper left corner. Note that you cannot delete notifications in this view. If you are online when someone interacts with you, you will receive a notification popup in the lower left corner of your screen. You can also adjust account settings so that you receive updates on your mobile phone or through your email account.
