Can I unfollow people on twitter if I have follow limit?

I wanna unfollow people so I can follow more people because i have follow limit,is that against the rules??

u can unfollow by pressing te origional follow link. a box will appear to confirm the unfollow. i dont believe there is a limit as i ave seen ppl following 20.000+ ppl

You have no follow limit, however you must be careful if you are considering buying following because the administrators of Twitter do not like when you get big numbers following right away. I know somebody who got suspended temporarily for that. As far as unfollow people so that you can follow more, I don't think that is necessary, you can go ahead and follow more people but again watch out with large numbers in one time.
