My computer is getting these sounds from random commercials but no pop ups?

Im on like facebook and yahoo and all of a sudden i hear this voice talking, like a commercial from something and i look at the bars on my computer and there is no pop up window. its just sound and once in a while a random pop up from internet explorer. i use safari and used to use internet explorer.....i need some help here. is this a virus that i need to have looked at?

The sounds for random commercials are probably on the web pages you're viewing. Flash based advertisements are now including sound imbedded in the web pages. They're very annoying but usually have a small mute icon to make them stop. You just have to find them on the page.
