i only want a text to my phone for updates on certain people i have on twitter.
how do i do this?

Tweeting is a message with up to 140 characters. You don't choose who to send your tweets to (vs. a text message). People who choose to follow you on twitter will see what you published. Other people searching for things on twitter may also stumble upon your tweets.
