what is a slow script on safari?

i have a macbook, recently on facebook in particular, a message keeps coming up that it is running a slow script. i have no clue what this means and how to stop it. my safari in general runs really slow, my computer is only a year old, is this a virus, should i have some kind of virus protection?

Just in case, it would be a good idea to buy virus protection, even if this isn't a virus. Something else might pop up later. If it's a virus, it'll probably have some kind of other name on it. If its from Apple, then it isn't a virus. Have you deleted your history? On my iMac, when it runs slow I click on "System Preferences", then I go to Network and check which server I'm on. If it's the one I created, then it's fine. If it's an unrecognizable one, change it to one you created, if any. Hope I helped =]
