How to be popular on social networks?

So I always wanted people to send me friend requests and messages but I don't know to start and this goes for Facebook twitter meetme etc and there's a ton of people that are I just want to be average person with a lot of friends and them sending me messages and stuff and basically to keep me more busy

Can someone name some steps or list in how to to be popular and advice thanks

Just start adding random people. Than they will ask how you know them. Than spark up a convo from their!

No no no, that's not average dear boy that's desperate. Some people pay money to get a bunch of fake accounts added to their friends list.
You want a bunch of messages from people you've never met, will get ugly very fast.

You could try and maybe start up a website, blog, youtube page and post interesting funny stuff and then people will want to talk to you. But if you're a guy expecting to create a profile and add everyone and expect a response good luck.

The result would be a bunch of people with a bunch of friends on their facebook that they do not know and only speak to rarely because they think they're too good for them because they have all those other friends who don't talk to them because they think they're too good.

Maybe go outside? And meet and talk to real people.
