Would you pick your racist boyfriend/girlfriend over your friend of another race?
I'm black and I used to be "friends" with this young, white, couple. Even though we were supposed to be friends, the male in the couple would constantly tell racist jokes about black people whenever I was around him. He got so bold with his racism that he started using the N word freely and comfortably around me. The two of them were my only friends in an all white college town I used to live in, so I just accepted it....Until one day I snapped and told this guy about himself. His girlfriend, who was also my friend turned on me completely. She deleted me on facebook and said "I'm not going to let this guy disrespect my boyfriend"...I was really hurt and surprised she didn't even try to stand up to him for me...I guess it was "okay" to lose me because I was just her friend and he was her bf....Even if he was in the wrong.

My question is, if you were that girl (or a guy) and you had a partner who was racist to your friends, would you stand up to them and tell them to stop? Or would you take your racist partners side and cut ties to your friend?
@brballin Gotten "too" upset? So it's my fault? lol WOW

No, I could not stay on in a relationship with a racist. I grew up in a racist family (on dad's side they were Nazis during WW II) and I can't live with that sort of nonsense.

I would stick to my friend, not my boyfriend.

Nope, I would think of that boyfriend as disgusting and would break up with him. I'd definitely support my friend even if we weren't too close.

I would totally make that boyfriend shut his mouth and tell him that enough is enough. But she probably didn't do that because you might have gotten too upset at him. You should've told you friend to tell her bf to stop..

Well... If we're talking about one of my close friends, then no I wouldn't put up with it. My close friends are my family as far as I'm concerned, and I don't take well to people who badmouth them... Even IF I loved my racist girlfriend (wouldn't intentionally seek out a racist woman either...), I'd set her straight there and then. I'd probably get extremely angry and dump her too...

LOL!!! Wahahahahahahahahha!!!! Serves you right you stupid loser!!!!! Thanks for giving me a good laugh.....go back to your country! You dont belong in America! What did you expect? Bloody foreigner!

PS: depends.....if it were YOU, l'd probably join in! No but seriously...it depends.
You deserved it. Its too bad that you're still racially confused....one would think that you would develop a brain and a sense of racial identity after experiencing something like that. Obviously fools stay fools. Im sorry that the moral of the story went over your head.

Enjoy your day
From your fellow African
