my ipod has been smashed for a year and has only just stopped connecting to the internet how can i fix this?

i smashed my ipod in 2011 and it has been fine the internet worked the same as when it wasnt smashed, now it says its connected but everytime i try and connect to the app store or twitter or safari it says 'cannot open page' how do i try and fix this without it having to be repaired?

It's hard to get an answer to that without someone actually looking at it. Take it to an apple store. They might be able to tell you what's wrong with it free of charge.
