Major events would be Cosfest, AFA and EOY ^^

It's hard to find a tailor shop that makes specific anime costumes (unless you are cosplaying Miku Hatsune- then they are everywhere! O_O). I can't really help you on this ><, I usually prefer from taobao and make my own props. People told me that HaruHouse is a good place to get costumes from, though I think their shop went bust and their facebook service is crappy. OtakuHouse is another place, and is located at Plaza Sing, Suntec City, or Illuma at bugis (basically all the the heart of town). Get your measurements before going to them (it's not custom-made btw).
