Most studies I've seen say it has a negative effect. It encourages jealousy by letting that person see all of the attention you give to others. Plus there can be disputes over the status of your relationship on your profile, or over flirtatious behavior.
I think it could be positive for some couples who use social media a lot, because it provides another venue in which you can support one another, back each other up, etc. Ads |

It's the same guidlines as having a conversation with someone. It depends on the quality of what is said. If it's not diplomatic and pointed then social media becomes dangerous because the other person will respond like wise.
Diplomacy, patience and kindness are still the order of the day. |
