is it possible to see who has viewed your facebook profile?
there's a group called " get a notification when someone views your profile" with almost 190,000 members. does this work or is it a virus/ scam?
(are there viruses on facebook? would it be dangerous for me to click it and try it out?) Ads |

There's no way that would work, because the Facebook API, which is the software that application developers use to make their applications, does not provide Facebook applications with the ability to determine when someone is viewing your profile. Any such applications as these are fake. A lot of times these applications just give you reports based on which people post on your wall most often, which is something that the Facebook API does allow authorized applications to access.
It is not possible to get a virus from enabling a Facebook application - you'd have to physically download software onto your computer. Nevertheless, there are scam applications where nefarious types want to collect data on your friends (which applications can access when you authorize them) for data mining/spam purposes. However, I don't think you're referring to an application, I think that you're actually referring to a petition group - a group of people that has come together to petition Facebook to allow people and/or applications to determine when another user is viewing a profile. Because of the privacy implications, it is not likely that Facebook would enable such a feature. |

Facebook doesn't allow people to know who views their profile unless the viewer decides to be tracked by installing an application. For more information about the statement of Facebook about this issue, follow the link on the source.
