They probably figure that parts of Devon don't even have electricity so the expensive tat of Ikea won't exactly sell well.

Catchment area I would guess . If you want to see the products then maybe go to your nearest store (Bristol ?) and then order online . The south west seems a no-go area for many companies due to the relatively sparse population and the distance/cost of setting up and supplying a store.

They can't be everywhere. If studies show that it will be profitable for them in Devon, one will be built quickly.

In September 2012 the Ikea store was identifying sites in Exeter . I've heard no more scince then, but I too am hoping for it to come off.
