How would you improve the SEO on this site?
http://www.UprightPiano.ca
I have already gotten it listed on the first page for a few local keyphrases. However, it is hard to keep it up there in the search results. Any good link/article directories to submit to? How about the onsite component - any suggestions? What about blogging, optimizing images, videos etc. Which social networking and media sharing sites should she submit to?

Thanx a bunch. Any useful tips, comments or suggestions are welcome.

Your onsite optimization look good with the right amount of keywords, title/h tags usage. I have the following views:

Onsite SEO:
1. Make minor changes to your pages once in a while and make sure that your sitemap reflects those changes (I hope you have sitemap)
2. H2 tags may be made consistent in the body
3. Let the banner-logo link to the home page rather than http://uprightpiano.ca/index.html

Offsite SEO:
1. You need to start building backlinks to your site using your keywords.
2. Since you are concentrating on your country visitors, make sure that you set the geo targeting settings in your Google webmaster tools to Canada

The moment you start link building, you will see results! However, your homepage need to have more punch. The greyish text is not very intrusive.

You can submit it to directories like ezine articles, goarticles, article dashboard, etc. The good way is to spin your article to have many variations. You can find many free spinner tools. This will increase the uniqueness of your article.

Article submissions will generate you many links, but it will be PR0 to PR1 links. Maybe in some cases even PR2. It doesn't matter if article directory has a PR7 or PR9, your article will be published on a page that is PR0. The same goes with social bookmarking.

It's not the same if your link is on a high PR page or on a high PR website but on some page that has PR1 or PR0. In the latter case it's like you have a PR1 or PR0 link. The only difference is that it will be indexed faster.

To get high PR links from high PR webpages, the best&fastest way to do this is to buy them. There is no shortcut. Unless you have a website that is so unique and interesting that many will link to you just to impress their own visitors.

And the third thing to consider are SEOmoz tools. These are the best ones I ever seen on the web when it comes to SEO.

Hope this helps!

You need an unlimited number of quality backlinks. We all do. Even if you're on top of the SERPs, your competitors will always try to outrank you.

For an unlimited number of quality backlinks, try the Free Traffic System. It's free to join but you have to be submitting articles.

Just to add to the other suggestions ...

Youtube is being touted as another important 'search engine' to take note of. If you can do a video of a demo or something to showcase piano's, it is another link from a high PR site. Give it a try.

I do think the site could use more visual appeal though. Pictures of pianos would be a good idea. Making the text darker and slightly larger (easier to read) would be good.

A little more text or information, maybe how to care for a piano, why professional piano movers should be used, etc. And what about cross promotion with music teachers or music stores. Developing relationships within the music community for local promotion would be a very good thing.

SEO is marketing, basically. The best SEO is what should be done for a website/online business even if Google didn't exist.

Hope this helps.
