I need help with my ipad!!?

I have the first ipad and its in really good shape! But theres one problem. I just tried to start using it again (because i stopped for awhile) and it wouldnt turn on. So my first guess is to just charge it. So i did for like a day and i finally got it to turn on after a while. But now it died and i have been charging it for like a week straight and it wont turn on!! Idk what to do!!! Anyone know the problem??
