Ok, so hi guys im 18, i weight i think near 300, now its not all fat but a good portion of it is, i am goign to lose the weight now, i have to because of my major which i musical theater, which includes ballet, and 8 shows a week and what not anyway i was just wondering if my skin will go back to its normal size, im trying to find how to attach a picture to you so you all can see. but i have lost some weight due to ballet and right eating but i rally need to lose it before 2014 so my doctor was like under 200 would not be healthy since alot of the weight is muscle ( football + musical theater make you really strong) but yeah so just wondering, also if u guys have any exercises to belly fat and just general tips outside of eat right and work out!! here is a pic of me now http://s1337.beta.photobucket.com/user/J...sort=3&o=0

Nothing at GNC will help other than a basic multivitamin - available anywhere. Very few if any of their products contain approved and proven ingredients. Alli is the only FDA approved product they can sell.
1) Eat fresh whole foods. Avoid as much processed and refined food as possible. They are loaded with additives, preservatives, salts, sugars, and simple carbs. Very tasty. Very bad for us. High fiber foods reduce transit time and increase metabolism.
2) Moderate exercise as simple as brisk walking for 30 minutes help weight loss. We have been convinced we need to "kill ourselves exercising" to lose weight. Not true.
3) Stay well hydrated. All cellular and body systems work better when we are well hydrated. Try hot
or iced green tea with a splash of orange or lemon juice. Soda and fruit juices are basically liquefied sugar. Yes fruit juice has almost as much sugar as soda. Eat the fruit and get the fiber.
4) The only supplement we need is an age appropriate multivitamin. Maybe a fish oil capsule if you have cholesterol issues. The majority of supplements cannot contain any controlled substance and cause excess work for the liver and kidneys.
5) Get enough sleep. Every recent sleep study connects cravings for "cheap calorie" foods with poor or lack of sleep. If you are serious about weight loss and good health, same time to bed every night for 7-9 hours depending on your age. Teens need 8-9 hours. Quality sleep helps weight control, cognitive function, improved immune system, and positive attitude.
6) Have a splurge meal once in awhile. Schedule these around your social calendar so that your weight loss and fitness are the focus not what you are eating. As metabolism increases we can easily deal with the occasional excess calories. A splurge meal - not a splurge or cheat day!

Ballet and football, an interesting mix. Best of health.

As a CPT and a Hi Health store manager i can tell you i have helped hundreds if not thousands of people reach their weight loss goals. Most people are different, however, there are a few basic principles that help people find what fits into their lifestyle. Your skin should return back to its normal size if you do not lose weight too fast and you maintain that muscle that you have during your weight loss journey. Here are some basic tips that will help you with that:

1) Nutrition- Your "diet" or what you eat is a HUGE part of what you do. It sounds like you already have a high level of activity, the main thing i would focus on is the foods you consume. Another member recommended a whole food approach which is perfect. Avoid all processed foods including: candy, white bread, sodas, and snacks. Instead, focus on fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats, nuts and seeds, and whole grains(100% whole grains). Lean meats would be considered chicken, turkey, lean ground beef, and fish. A rule i would follow is 30g of protein within 30 minutes of waking up. This will not only speed up your metabolism, it will also help you not get hungry later in the day. I book that i recommend to my clients is "The Eat Clean Diet" by Tosca Reno. It is not a "diet" book, instead she focuses on what to avoid and what to consume.

2) Exercise- I can tell you moderate exercise does the trick. About an hour a day of activity will accelerate your results. Exercise should not be your main tool for exercise like most people suggest it should be put in place to speed up the rate at which you want to lose weight. In regards to your question about exercises to reduce belly fat, Abs are made in the kitchen. No type of abs exercise will help you target belly fat, the foods mentioned above will be the key to getting rid of belly fat. I would advise you to do at least 30 minutes of strength training 3 times a week to keep adequate muscle on your body. Any cardio or running on top of that is great.

3) Supplements- I cannot give you a certain "magic pill" to help you reach your goal. There are some basic supplements that help with overall health.

Multivitamin
Fish oil
Protein powder( either for a quick breakfast or to increase your protein intake throughout the day)

Those would be my basic recommendations to keep your body running at an optimal level while your exercising.

You sound very motivated and determined to get this weight off. I wish you the best of luck and focus on a true lifestyle change. Any other questions I will be here for you.
