How do I stop friends from being notified about my posts on facebook?
There are several friends of mine that get notifications about my posts and keep nagging me about them. It's not as bad that I'd unfriend them but bad enough for me to want it to stop. Is there any way other than unfriending them to stop them from getting notifications or simply deleting me from their "close friends" list?

It's up to them to go to your profile, hover over the "Friends" button, click on "Settings" and then select an option for notification frequency.
