Facebook and Youtube not working, "Missing Flash Player"?
Every time I try to open Facebook or Youtube I get a message that says "We have detected that your missing or need to update your flash player. Please click here to install the latest plugin" When I download it tells me that the program cannot be opened. However, I have Adobe Flash already on my computer and it is up to date. If I leave the window open it changes to an IP address and I get a message that says that the identity of the website cannot be verified and that my computer may be at risk. Also when I click download it changes the address briefly to http://www.burosys.net.

This is happening with all the computers that I am using on this network. Everything else on the internet is working fine, but neither Facebook or Youtube will load at all. I have tried restarting both my computer and the network but nothing is helping.

Could this be a virus, and if so, how can I fix it? Please help!

Sounds like you downloaded the wrong thing and attracted some malware or spyware... Probably a virus.

My free Avast Antivirus blocks http://www.burosys.net as a malicious URL.

Try this:

Firstly, boot your computer to the Safe Mode menu screen. You do this by repeatedly pressing F8 as soon as you boot up. Once there, use the arrow keys to highlight Safe Mode with Networking. Continue to boot from there, by pressing Enter. You will now see some drivers being loaded. There will be a pause at some point. This usually lasts for no more than 30 seconds.

If that’s successful, open your browser, copy and paste this link into the address bar and press Enter. It's a direct download for RKill. Save it to your desktop, then run it. It takes just a minute to run. As it's running, any remaining desktop icons will vanish for a few seconds. When the notepad report is displayed, just close it.

http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/rkill.exe

RKill SHOULD HAVE STOPPED THE INFECTION(S) FROM RUNNING, BUT IT WON'T HAVE REMOVED IT / THEM.

Now open your browser and copy and paste this link into the address bar, and press Enter. It's a direct download for the free version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBAM). Install it, get updates and run a full scan (still in Safe Mode):

http://www.myantispyware.com/mbam

You should now delete RKill, as updated versions are often made available. Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware is easy to uninstall, but it may prove to be beneficial in the future.

After this, try rebooting normally. If that's successful, I recommend you run another full scan with MBAM. It will detect malware that wasn't running in Safe Mode.

If you manage to disinfect your computer, yet still need to install Flash Player, I recommend you get it from here:

Hope this helps.

While we always recommend using the latest version of Flash Player, sometimes problems are encountered in a new release that were not present in a previous release. If you are unable to work around these problems and they block functionality you rely on, rolling back to a previous version might be required until an update is made available.

I think the last version of Flash Player was Flash Player 11.5.502.110. It might be a good idea to try Flash Player 11.5.502.110. You can get it from:

Flash Player archives - Release and Content Debugger archives
•(Released 11/6/2012) Flash Player 11.5.502.110 (146.38 MB)
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/a...sions.html
Download the file named "fp_11.5.502.110_archive.zip "

Unzip or extract the files. Look in the "11_5_r502_110" folder in the directory you just unzipped for two files named "flashplayer11_5r502_110_winax.exe" for Internet Explorer and "flashplayer11_5r502_110_win.exe" for Plugin-based browsers and install both of them.

Old versions of Macromedia Flash Player can be found at OldVersion.com. The web site says that Macromedia Flash Player 11.3.300.268 is the Latest Version. Maybe you should try that. You can get it from here:

Macromedia Flash Player 11.3.300.268 (IE)
http://www.oldversion.com/windows/macrom...300-268-ie

Macromedia Flash Player 11.3.300.268 (Non-IE) for Firefox
http://www.oldversion.com/windows/macrom...268-non-ie

Flash Player 10.3.183.48 is available from here:
