How can I make the 5 pictures at the top of the new facebook different?
Like, am I able to make a new album and have the pictures from that album the 5 at the top of my facebook profile instead of my tagged ones?

Go over them with your mouse cursor and you should notice a little "x" on the photo appear. Click that and it would hide the photo. Keep doing that until you get the 5 you want.

There is an app you can install from fb that puts a banner at the top of the page. I tried it and it worked with no ads Smile I even tagged some of my friends with silly banners!
