How did I get a virus on my other computer?
Can I get a virus from using "Cafe World" or "Farmville" on Facebook? Can I get a virus from a store bought game? My husband swears that this is where our virus came from.

The virus is coming from the Facebook games, because this had happened to me before. Facebook had tons of problems lately.

likely not from farmville, cafe world, nor store bought game.
you need to buy a virus protection for your computer
it doesnt matter what site you go to, viruses are all over the internet.
and are most common in forbidden sites and in downloads or emails

No. I play both cafe world, and Farmville. And I have a very expensive virus catcher. You cannot get a virus from a store bought games. If you download games off the internet for free you can, but if it is from a reputable company like EA Games you absolutely 100% did NOT get your virus from here.

I hate to say this but check the history bar of your computer. Is your husband looking at things he shouldn't? Porn sites are notorious for all sorts of bad cookies/spyware/virus. Maybe he went to a site riddled with viruses and is projecting. Good luck either way. Buy a good virus scanner.

The free hotspots are the most dangerous. Everybody can get an somebody else's computer or cell and can do there whatever they want. There are funny videos on the web of people doing pranks on other people's equipment in public places.

No, you can not get a virus from playing Cafe World of FarmVille, nor from an original, store-bought game.

However, you can get viruses from using the internet or joining FarmVille or Cafe World groups that point you towards shady locations. My advice would be to never join such groups (especially those promising you free items, free cash and so on) since they are generally scam and most likely to give your computer viruses.

Oh, and try installing a free antivirus like the Avira Antivirus available here: http://www.free-av.com/

No, but having excess applications on facebook will slow down your browser. I'd suggest deleting any you are not currently using.

What operating system are you using? If you are using Windows [which as a lot of holes], you are going to definitely need anti-virus software. I'd suggest AVG as it is the best for that OS and you can download the free edition. http://free.avg.com/us-en/homepage#axzz0c83APOp5

Also, if you aren't already using Firefox or Chrome, I'd suggest switching to those...as opposed to using Internet Explorer.
