Turning off friend notifications?

It seems to notify me on facebook when my friends do things such as update their status or add pictures etc, how do I turn this off for all my friend?

It may be one of two things:

First possibility:
1. Hover over their name.
2. Click Friends button.
3. If the Get Notifications is selected on top of the list, uncheck it.

Second possibility:
1. Hover over their name.
2. Click Friends button.
3. Check if the List name Close Friends is checked. If it is, uncheck it.

There is one other option -
1. Hover over their name.
2. Click Friends button.
3. Click settings.
4. Change the amount of Updates you wish to see. All updates, Most updates, or Only important

You'll see every notification on Facebook, but you can turn off notifications about specific posts as you view them
You can also decide to stop seeing a certain type of notification right when you see it:
Click the globe icon
Hover your mouse over the notification you want to stop seeing and click the X that appears
Click Turn off
OR
Go to their Timeline or Page
Click Friends, Subscribed
UnCheck Get Notifications

You have to do this one by One for each of your friends
