Well nobody can see your stuff anymore, but it's just deactivated (not deleted) so you can just sign in and it will be reactivated. Also, you can set it to deactivate but not let you back in for a certain amount of time.

Your deactivated facebook account can be re-activated by you at any time by simply logging on using your original email and password. Be sure you write the email and password down in a notebook so you don't forget it if you decide to go back to your account in a couple of months.

f you deactivate your account, your timeline disappears from the Facebook service immediately. People on Facebook won't be able to search for you, though some info, like messages you sent, may still be visible to others. We also save your timeline information (ex: friends, photos, interests, etc.) in case you want to come back.
If you don't think you'll use Facebook again, you can request to have your account permanently deleted. Please keep in mind that you won't be able to reactivate your account or retrieve any of the content or information you've added. Before you do this, you may want to download a copy of your info from Facebook. Then, if you'd like your account permanently deleted with no option for recovery, log in to your account and fill out this form. |

Most Facebook users log in on a regular basis, updating statuses, uploading photos and commenting on friends' pages. If you find that you're no longer a regular user, or you won't be accessing your account for some time, you have options for maintaining your account. Account deactivation allows you to temporarily refrain from using your Facebook account with the option to return and regain access to your profile and content. Account deactivation is a simple process that can be easily reversed. It offers Facebook members the flexibility to leave the social network and return when ready.
