The ebook "How To Choose A Host Agency" contains information on over 300 host agencies, so you can see it's not an easy choice!

The problem with your question is that most people will have first-hand experience with one host agency. If they like it, they'll say it's the best. And it may be --- for them! But will it be the best for YOU? Who knows?

Do you want to spend nothing to join a host agency? It's possible. Or do you want to spend several thousand? That's possible, too.

Do you want 50% of the commission? Or 60%, 70% or 80%? All are possible.

Unfortunately, there's no real substitute for doing your own research or "due diligence," as they say. It can take a lot of digging and you need to know the right questions to ask, but in the end, you'll be a lot more likely to make the decision that's right for YOU.

Another travel business site to consider is YTB (Your Travel Biz). Details can be found at:

http://www.ytb.com/amazingtoursandtravel

the travel site is at:

http://www.amazingtoursandtravel.com

Now, which ever travel sites you look at and compare keep in mind they all have different features and benefits. Give each one a fair look and unbiased look.

Additionally, being a travel agent involves sellling. Just because you get a travel website with a lot of bells and whistles does not mean people run to their computers and book on your travel site.

Do not be afraid of selling to your family and friends. It does not mean also that your family and friends will always book on your site, but at least they have you as an option.

You should also get as much training as you can and not just from your travel site. "Travel Agent University" is a really good site for training.

You also need to build up a customer data base. Advertise anyway you can through business cards, car signs, on line ads, newspapers, blogs, social business network sites, etc.

Travel is a very very competitive business. Keep in mind that the bigger your travel company gets the more it becomes a target for competitors. Keep good records of your receipts for taxes.
Good luck and I wish you success.
