Currently running Linux on an originally Windows computer - how do I get windows back?
I have a Dell that came with Vista. Im currently running only Linux. I would like to install a version of Windows back on my computer. Do I have to uninstall Linux or re-partition hard drives or anything special? Or can I just pop in the Windows cd like I'd do if I were currently running Windows?
The partitions I have currently: unallocated/file system unallocated /dev/sda1/file system ext 4 /dev/sda2/file system extended -- underneath this partition is /dev/sda5 for linux-swap. Is there a space requirement on these partitions? I'm able to use g-parted. Ads |

Hello mmmj0590,
I am from Dell Social Media and Community. You will just have to reinstall windows from the restore disc. Follow the link below to get the steps to install Windows 7 on your system. http://support.dell.com/support/topics/g...egacy=true Before you start, at start up press F2 to enter setup and change the boot sequence. First boot device should be your CD Drive. (Make sure you back up all important data onto an external hard drive/source) If this has not helped you or if you need any further assistance, feel free to message me on Twitter(@NiranjanatDell). I will be happy to assist. Dell-Niranjan Ads |
