Does more apps on the palm pixi take up the battery faster?

I downloaded a bunch of free apps (games) on my mom's phone and she says that her battery is running out faster because I downloaded those. She said because its taking up the memory >_> I honestly feel she's wrong and that just apps on the phone won't take up battery because they aren't being runned, but she said she never had the problem before I added the games. Maybe she's using it more, or something, but the above question, is it true?

Unless you're running the apps they do not use up the battery. Some things to check for battery drain:

o Running apps that use a lot of data or use it frequently (Facebook, for example).
o Checking e-mail accounts too frequently.
o As batteries age they lose capacity. Not sure how old it is but you can also look at a battery with increased capacity (Seidio makes one -- might make a nice present!)
o If it's a Pixi Plus use WiFi whenever at a hot spot. When you won't be near one, turn off WiFi.
o Bluetooth takes battery. If you don't use Bluetooth, make sure it's disabled
