Connect an HDMI cable.
On the TV open the Inputs Menu and select the HDMI Input you plugged into.
Start the laptop and see if it connects.

On the laptop you can toggle through various combinations having one or both video screens enabled.
Hold the Fn and Tap the F8 and wait a second or 2. Repeat as needed.
If you have the laptop screen off and the TV screen on, it can go to higher resolution.

It may be another Function key to press with the Fn.
Look for the one with an old rounded rectangle CRT Monitor Symbol on it.

Check your manual.

Hello K,
My name is Krishna and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell. There are a variety of different ways you can connect your computer to your TV. Which cable you use will depend on what type of connections your laptop/PC has and what type of connections your television has.

The following is a list of the different types of cables/connections you will have to choose from with picture quality ranging from highest to lowest:

1. HDMI
2. DVI
3. VGA
4. S-Video
5. Composite/RCA

Hope this helps.

Regards,
