What happens if I clicked on a phishing link from a Craigslist scam?
I replied to a job posting and it asked me to click on a facebook link to find out more information. It took me to my actual facebook page, not the "facerrook" page everyone else got. I'm freaking out - what information can they steal and do I have a virus now?
I have an apple computer. Would it still be likely for me to get a virus?

You likely do not have a virus - it doesn't sound like it if it was just a link to FB and nothing more.

But don't give them any (more) information no matter what. Scams like this are designed to give the illusion that the company is legit by using social networks or other mediums that would make one feel comfortable. Then they would pose as a manager, case worker, company official or some such false title in order to gather information from you via a FB acct, texts, phone calls, emails, etc. Phishing scams are malicious and attempt to destroy/steal finances, identity, credit card numbers - anything to squeeze some cash out of unsuspecting people.

Stop all communication. If they harass you on Facebook, you can report them. If need be, you can block phone numbers, email addresses and the like - so stay smart and give out nothing they may want.

If you would like to share your story and warn others about this scam, please visit http://www.GetPayback.com - you can file a free claim and browse other claims to learn about current scams submitted by people around the world. Get Payback is a social justice and consumer advocacy group dedicated to warning the public about scams and all forms of fraudulent, malicious and unethical activity.

Good Luck!
