Updating from windows 7 to windows 8 pro?
I m using a newly bought dell inspiron 15R with windows 7 home basis aas I m eligible for windows 8 pro upgrade offer I can get a DVD of windows 8 pro + 2GB digital download at a very low price though I have option whether or not order DVD which may reduce my cost of purchasing windows 8!
Is there a way I can order only DVD of windows 8 pro not the digital download as I m having a slow internet so that I wont have to pay for the downloading windows 8 to microsoft? Ads |

I think you have to use the digital download if you want to use the free upgrade. But why would you want windows 8. Its so awful!

As a home computer user myself, I would personally not order the copy of windows 8 as it is a less stable operating system. I would use the money to get a better version of windows 7.

Hello Sarthak,
My name is Krishna and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell. A Windows 8 upgrade DVD will be available for purchase at an additional cost. The price will be in addition to the cost of the downloadable software. You may also need to pay applicable shipping fees, duties and taxes for the DVD. Import duties and taxes may be assessed by the customs organization of the country into which the media is being imported. You should consult your local tax authority if you have any questions. You are responsible for any applicable duties and taxes. An internet connection is required for the upgrade. While a broadband connection will provide the best download experience, it is not a requirement. Estimated size for the download is 2 gigabytes.
