How to stop junk mail from Facebook?

I keep getting lots of junk mail from places like hoopos, mystique and all these bizarre names I've never heard of before. When I click on the disable e-mail link it takes me straight to Facebook to the disable apps page, even though I have never actually signe up to any of these apps and have changed my settings not to receive emails from apps, but I keep getting them! How can I stop this without changing my email address?

Usually, when you try to signup for a website using Facebook connect, you get automatically subscribed to the newletter or e-mails and also provide permission to access your profile information.
