How do I make a Youtube / Google+ group account name if it asks for first and last?

I'm feeling out of the social media loop. Never got it. So of the simplest things, I tried to start a new Youtube channel with a friend, but the account is linked to Google+. It asks for a first and last name and the nickname can only be set like "Firstname 'Nickname' Lastname"... how can you make a channel with a group name instead? I can restart the youtube/google+ account with no problem, but I don't know how to make an 'artist' like page where the profile is not one person, but a group name.

Come on... I can't take all the credit for myself.
I tried google.com/+/business and/or finding a Create A Group setting on YouTube... the latter doesn't exist and the former ends up bringing you to the basic Google+ create account page again which isn't for a business unfortunately. It is based like a Facebook profile that needs a first and last name, etc etc.

I want to know how to make an organization/company/group channel such as http://www.youtube.com/user/RoosterTeeth .
...and by "make an org/company/group" I mean how can you now create a brand new channel with all of the YouTube basics, but not have it named by a personal profile of a First Name "Nickname" Last Name as Google+ wants you to do???
