I like the idea of immigration reform, but he said that 4 years ago and Bush actually did pretty well with it so I don't know if it need reform or if the country needs to get better at enforcing it. If there is a reform to make it better then that's awesome but, if the country doesn't try to enforce it any better then what's the point? I think it will ultimately fall on the enforcers to get the job done, not the reform itself. I don't care much for the whole climate thing. Obama and the liberals and greens love to talk about stuff like electric cars because they are fuel efficient. I agree, however they are not economically efficient yet. They are ten times the cost and we can barely afford our current system of fueling cars. Let's work with what we still have before we start to replace it. Funding it is by no means a fallacy, but there needs to be rationality put into place when investing for the future because today is just as important. He talked about education reform, but didn't go into specifics. I think standardized testing should be removed. The NCLB Act had good intention but, it didn't work and teachers are not teaching our children about the world, just a specific curriculum and neat loopholes and tricks to get them passed state exams. Also I think tenure needs to be abolished completely. If a teacher sucks they should be fired, end of story. I think education funding should be much greater. I went to high school not being able to take textbooks home to study because there weren't enough. He talked about tax code reform. I am an independent but, I am fiscally a moderate conservative, and I believe we need to raise taxes on wealthy but, not upper middle class, which is not what he is doing at all (though I can deal with his taxes, I don't like that he isn't allowing for any cuts). I think we do need some spending cuts here and there, not as much as Romney or other right wingers would want, but we do need some. When you are behind on your bills you cut your spending a little to save money and you get another job or take out a loan or borrow money from a friend/family member to make revenue. You don't need a degree in accounting to do that. Obama wants to raise the debt ceiling so he can charge me more taxes so he can pay medicare and social security and bonds and then he will provide more stimuli to other government expenditures on credit and since the global currency is the dollar so we can basically pay ourselves back using imports and printing, it's an accounting trick actually. So I usually don't agree with Obama's economic or most of the liberal economic policies. I think they are risky and they don't really work. It's just a gimmick and it's been done many times before and all it does in make the debt grow faster. Bush screwed up a lot with bad monetary policy and raised the debt 2 trillion. Nothing has changed at all in monetary policy and Obama raised it by 8 trillion. I think Obama is smart and had good intentions but, there wasn't much thought put into most of it. I just think millionaires and those making like $500,000 or more should probably pay more in taxes, and I think any bracket hitting or going over 40% is absurd. And then I think we need some spending cuts. I don't know where exactly as I am not an expert, certainly not anything educational like public schools or PBS and certainly not medicare or social security, but definitely the military and subsidiaries to oil companies are good places to start. I mean if you want to start moving in a green direction, why are funding oil companies? I don't means to contradict, like I said, I think we should still utilize what we have now, but what we are doing is overspending on both future investments and current expenses. We need to balance that out. He didn't talk foreign policy because American media views are too stupid to understand it for the most part at least but, I will mention it. I think we need to stay far away from Syria and pay more attention to Iran. We don't have any trade with Syria and they can go screw themselves, they hate us anyway. We helped Bin Laden overthrow the dictator in Afghanistan and then 2 years later he killed almost 3000 Americans. I saw Benghazi coming, that's why I disagreed with the bombing of Libya, and so did Obama, but someone coaxed him into authorizing it, I forgot I think it was some dude in the UN or something. I feel bad for Syrians but, pity and faith is all I would give them. I think Obama needs to be more supportive to Israel. He doesn't need to suck their d*ck but, he does need to keep them happy and they are not at the moment as Obama seems apathetic about them. They are our only secure ally in the area and we need them just as much as they need us. Also get all up in China's grill. Their dumping and currency manipulation is annoying, just like ours is, we both need to cut that out.
